Mission

To enhance understanding of other parties’ points of view and joined up management of the Estuary.

The Hamble Estuary Partnership (HEP) will:

• Organise up to two meetings per year, with topic groups as required.
• Distribute electronic updates or newsletters as necessary.
• Help facilitate priority projects identified by partners.
• Have a website with information about the partnership, meetings and minutes, and topic information.
• Offer a sponsored student research fund to encourage academic research.
• Provide a consultative role to the Hamble Harbour Board on request.

Between 2003 and 2008 a non-statutory Estuary Management Plan was produced by the Partnership. A few copies of the 2003 to 2008 plan are still available on request from [email protected]. The Plan was not continued because by 2009 the actions had either been completed, were no longer applicable, or were down to an individual organisation or group of organisations to deliver under their own remits. The HEP has since changed to a 'service delivery' partnership rather than a 'plan-led' partnership, however, it has kept the aims of the EMP as its guiding principles.
