Services and facilities
There are lots of services and facilities available to residents and visitors to the river. Some are provided by the Harbour Authority and others by the many local business along the river.
Many services and local business are listed in the River Hamble Handbook.
Harbour Office opening hours
1 April – 30 September: 7am to 10pm
1 October – 31 March: 7am to 7pm
The Harbour Office and Harbour Patrol operate throughout the year with the exception of Christmas Day. Outside these hours, emergencies should be reported to the Coastguard.
First aid and casualty reception
All Harbour Authority staff are first aid trained. The Harbour Master’s Jetty at Warsash is the nominated casualty reception point for vessels arriving. The Coastguard, Hampshire Ambulance, police and fire services will, unless otherwise directed, attend at Warsash. A defibrillator is available at the Harbour Office.
Mooring for visitors
Visitors to the river can berth at Harbour Authority visitor moorings. There may also be visitor moorings at marinas along the river.
Tender berthing
Tender berthing is available at Warsash and Hamble public jetties, however this is limited. This is mainly for small tender craft whose mothership is using the visiting pontoon facilities.
Visiting tenders should contact the Harbour Office on arrival before mooring to find out if a berth is available.
