Visitor moorings

The River Hamble Harbour authority welcomes all visitors and encourages river users to enjoy their visit safely and responsibly.

Whether you’re familiar with the River Hamble or visiting for the first time, please make sure you’ve read the byelaws and general directions for visitors

Those visiting the River Hamble from overseas should be familiar with the Border Force guidance for visitors sailing to and from the UK.

Daily launching

Visitors may moor tenders in the area marked in red, but not overnight.

Hamble jetty

No electricity available.

Visitor pontoon

A mid stream visitor pontoon is available between piles B1 and B6 marked with blue piles. Visitors may moor tenders in the area marked in red, but not overnight.

A continuous pontoon with a capacity of 240m including rafting. 

The mid stream visitor’s pontoon is available for advance bookings for rallies and events between April and October.

Space is available for individual visiting yachts.

Long stays

Visitors may stay:

  • a maximum of 2 months between 1 April and 30 September
  • a maximum of 6 months between 1 October and 31 March

Extensions may be granted at the discretion of the Harbour Master.

How to pay

Mooring fees can be paid at the Harbour Office or collected by the Harbour Patrols VHF CH 68.

If payment is made in advance, vessels that stay for six consecutive days will be rewarded with the seventh night free of charge.

Marina visitor moorings

Marina visitor moorings may also be available. The marinas and boatyards offer extensive chandlery and boat maintenance services.
