We’ve teamed up with the Hawk Conservancy Trust, Hampshire’s leading bird of prey visitor attraction and conservation charity, to help reach our goal of planting one million trees before 2050.
We donated a brand new educational display, as well as 75 trees. These trees were planted by young nature enthusiasts at the Hawk Conservancy Trust, near Andover, to create a ‘learning hedge’ for a new outdoor classroom and education area. The hedge will create a valuable habitat for wildlife and give children a place for practical learning for experiments and outdoor study.
The educational display is a spectacular interpretation which depicts the food chain of a hedgerow. We hope it will inspire thousands of pupils and students to learn about the importance of birds of prey and their habitats. The permanent display will provide a fabulous resource for learning alongside the new hedge.
The Hawk Conservancy has also recently launched a new tree trail, which aims to showcase 11 different species across the grounds. The new activity gives visitors of all ages the chance to learn about why these species are so vitally important for wildlife, from invertebrates to birds of prey.
We’re excited to work with the Hawk Conservancy Trust for years to come, and hope to plant more trees and conserve birds of prey.
