Hamble Estuary Partnership

The Hamble Estuary Partnership (HEP) is an independent partnership currently organised voluntarily by the River Hamble Harbour Authority. It is formed of a wide range of harbour users, regulators, charities and organisations interested in the Estuary with an aim to enhance understanding of other parties’ roles, remits and joined up management of the Estuary.

The HEP sits within the catchment of the larger coastal partnership for this region, the Solent Forum.

The HEP meets once or twice a year to discuss issues of shared interest affecting the estuary, and to monitor and update on partners' projects and workstreams. Meetings are chaired by an independent person, often an academic from a local university. The HEP can be called upon to provide a consultative role the River Hamble Harbour Board (RHHB) but the HEP Chairman is not a member of the RHHB.
