Personal watercraft (Jet skis)

Personal watercraft (PWC) or jet skis are welcome to launch within the River Hamble.  All rules and regulations applicable to larger craft also apply to PWC.

PWC should launch from Warsash. Harbour dues apply each day.  Season tickets are available from the Harbour Office.  Payment must be made before launching.

Safety information for personal watercraft 

  • The upper river is not suitable for PWC for both environmental and safety reasons.
  • PWC found heading north will, unless they have a berth there, be directed towards the mouth of the river.
  • Once clear of the River Hamble, PWC riders must keep well clear of large vessels in Southampton Water.
  • The speed limit of six knots applies throughout the river and will be enforced.

Parking

Car parking is available at Shore Road Car Park near the Warsash slipway. Further parking is available at the Passage Lane Car Park. Avoid parking on the slipway. The tide at Warsash and the gradient of the slipway means that trailers and parked vehicles may become submerged.
