Book an appointment to visit your HWRC

From Monday 15 June you must have an appointment to visit an HWRC in Hampshire. If you visit an HWRC without an appointment you will be turned away. The booking system has been set up in response to the severe traffic queues seen at some HWRCs since they reopened with new social distancing measures in place.

You can only make one trip to one HWRC in a week (Monday to Sunday). You cannot visit more than one HWRC in the same week.

Booking slots are made available up to 7 days in advance. Dates further than 7 days ahead will show as unavailable.

You do not need to book an appointment to use Southampton (City Depot) recycling centre.

Portsmouth (Paulsgrove) is now operating a booking system with different specifications. Please visit Portsmouth city council website for more information.

Restrictions are still in place at these sites. Read the guidance for these centres before you visit.

Do not visit an HWRC if you are in self-isolation or if you have Covid-19 symptoms.

The appointment booking system has been set up to help manage demand during the coronavirus pandemic. It is not connected to the HWRC Vehicle Registration Scheme. You do not need to register your vehicle to book an appointment.

The start date for the HWRC Vehicle Registration Scheme is 1 August 2020. The online vehicle registration system remains open and we encourage residents to take the opportunity to register their vehicles for free in order to guarantee continued free access to HWRCs from 1 August 2020.

Availability of time slots

There will be a limited number of appointments available every day from 9am to 6pm.

Booking slots are made available up to 7 days in advance. Dates further than 7 days ahead will show as unavailable.

We expect demand for appointments to be high so please be patient if you cannot get a slot straight away. We are working to enable as many residents as possible to safely visit the HWRCs.

Please remember, government guidelines state the public should stay at home as much as possible to stop coronavirus spreading. Please consider whether it is essential that your waste is disposed of at this time. We thank all Hampshire residents for your continued patience and co-operation.
