I'm using a van, pick-up or trailer
If you are bringing household waste in a large vehicle, such as a van, pick-up or a trailer, you may need to apply for a permit.
I'm not a Hampshire resident
Residents of Portsmouth or Southampton can access all Hampshire HWRCs free of charge. Portsmouth and Southampton residents are eligible to dispose of DIY as if they were residents of Hampshire in accordance with our DIY waste policy.
Residents of Dorset can use Somerley HWRC without paying the cross-border access fee. However, Dorset residents are not eligible to dispose of any DIY waste for free and are subject to Hampshire's standard charges for DIY waste. Dorset residents visiting any other site will be subject to Hampshire's standard charge for cross-border access.
Residents of West Sussex can use Havant and Petersfield HWRCs without paying the cross-border access fee. However, West Sussex residents are not eligible to dispose of any DIY waste for free and are subject to Hampshire's standard charges for DIY waste. West Sussex residents visiting any other site will be subject to Hampshire's standard charge for cross-border access.
Other non-Hampshire residents will be charged £13.50 per visit to a Hampshire HWRC and are subject Hampshire's standard charges for DIY waste. The cross-border access fee is charged upon booking. See our out of county customer webpages for more information.
I'm not using my own car
When booking to visit a Hampshire HWRC, you should use the registration number of the vehicle you will be driving.
I'm using a hire van
You can book an appointment and access the HWRCs in a hired van, as long as you have hired it for three days or fewer and present the van hire agreement to site staff on arrival. You must bring the hire agreement with you to the recycling centre and show it to site staff when you arrive.
