Opt-in for email reminders on your library account

Our library management system holds your membership details, including information on the items you have borrowed. If you have an email address attached to your membership you can opt-in to receive library notices via email. 

These notices, which include loans and overdue reminders, can help you manage your account and avoid fees and charges; however, they are a courtesy and should not be relied upon to manage your account. 

Before July 2023, anyone who had an email address attached to their membership was automatically sent these library notices. In July, we updated our Terms of Membership – as part of this process and to bring our systems in line with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) all our members were automatically opted-out of receiving library notices. 

To receive the notices, which include loan and overdue reminders you need to opt-in to receive them. To do this you need to log into your account on the library management system, select the option for personal details- other details and ensure that the first box is ticked as shown below.

Choosing to receive library notices by email will not sign you up for marketing messages, if you wish to receive marketing material, please sign up to receive our email-newsletter on the website. 

You can change these preferences at any time by opting in or opting out on our library management system.
