10am - 4pm (with a lunch break)
In collaboration with The Arc, Winchester
Tickets: £25 per person
Book through The Arc's websiteWinchester Library presents a special one-off, all-day writing workshop with a difference.
Fiction needs characters, plot, setting. But what about angle, soundtrack, and visual aesthetics? Can our stories be enhanced by techniques used in film?
Join novelist Judith Heneghan and director Tim Fywell for this all-day workshop and explore what writers can learn by approaching a fictional scene as a film director might. We'll consider colour, costume and lighting, wide angles and close-up, and how viewers 'read' and remember a character or become immersed in a scene.
The day is designed for you to delve into key moments from fiction and film before drafting and enhancing scenes of your own.
Writers welcome at all levels of experience. Come prepared to explore, experiment, draft and discuss. -
