The Spydus Library app is a free app which lets you check out library loans using a smartphone or device as well as search for books, reserve and renew your items. You can even add multiple library accounts to the app to manage your family’s loans.
You can use the app to scan barcodes on books, which will search for available copies at your local library.
How to use the Spydus Library app
Download the free Spydus Library app from the Apple app store or Google Play store onto your smartphone or device.
- Select Hampshire Libraries from the dropdown list. Logon by entering your library membership number (username) and PIN (password).
- Scan library item barcodes to check out library loans from your smartphone/device. You can also scan ISBN codes when you’re out and about to see if there are available copies at your local library.
- Use the app to search the library catalogue, save searches, set up reading lists and get book recommendations.
- Add your family’s accounts to your app which means you can switch between them to manage their loans.
- On the home screen, tap the pink and white circular card icon to access your digital library card.
