Environmental Art
Patience – Social - Teamwork
The aim of this session is to create artwork inspired by, and using, the environment around us. This could be a 1-hour or 2-hour session.
We have a range of Environmental art available to choose from:
- Children can look at and take inspiration from the artist Andy Goldsworthy before creating their own pieces.
- Learning about the folklore surrounding Tree Guardians and creating their own. There may also be time to create a story about their guardian.
- Using a range of natural materials to create insect sculptures.
- Using leaves around them and paints to create beautiful leaf mandala patterns.
This session is suitable for key stage 1 and key stage 2 learners.
Earth Walks
Patience – Social - Teamwork
he aim of this session is for the children to use their senses to experience the awe and wonder of the world around us. During this 1-hour or 2-hour session, children have an opportunity to use their senses to explore the natural world around them. Earth walks can be included on a one-hour session and five or six in a two-hour session. Teachers are asked to select from: sky-eye, nature’s palettes, smelly cocktails, meet-a-tree, sound symphony, snapshot, touch boxes or eye-spy trail; selections can be made on the first day of your visit.
This session is available for Key Stage 2 children; an adapted version is available for Key Stage 1 children.
