Our Challenge package features a wide mix of adventurous, teambuilding and personal development activities. The programme provides experiences and opportunities for students to learn and develop a range of skills to meet a variety of outcomes such as developing teamwork skills, resilience, confidence, and communication as well as a better understanding of the environment and sustainability.
Building skills for life
This package provides students with an opportunity to develop a range of skills. Activities like climbing or abseiling provide personal and individual challenges, while caving, gorge walking, canoeing and mountain walking develop communication, co-operation, and teambuilding skills.
Nature's classroom
A typical day includes full or half day activity sessions, with all our activities taking place in or around the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
Your activity programme can also include a half day experience with the National Park education team giving your students an understanding and awareness of the natural environment, issues surrounding sustainability and the protected landscapes of the National Parks.

What's included?
One full day 1:10, outdoor adventure activity session in, on or under the National Park. Cave, mountain, gorge, climb or canoe
Two half day 1:10 outdoor adventure activities sessions. Cave, mountain, gorge, climb, canoe or waterfall walks
Explore the National Parks, including half day session with the National Park education team exploring the National Parks' secrets
A half day adventure challenge activity session including environmental exploration, problem solving, primitive skills, bushcraft, and survival skills
Meals and accommodation starting from dinner on day of arrival to lunch on departure day
One free group leader place for every 10 participants booked plus one extra
A course director to support the smooth running of the trip with daily morning meetings, feedback and reviews
First night evening activity (local walk staffed by an Argoed instructor)
Access to our evening activity resources for school self-led activities
Use of our IT resources including smart touch screen monitor dv projector and entertainment suite for presentation or film nights
Young person friendly library and traditional games cupboard

- Pure adventure option with a focus on small group work and full day outdoor education experiences with 100% of the activity week delivered at 1:10 instructor to student ratio
- Personal development assessment reviews and individual outcome learning analysis tailored to your learning objectives
- Additional activity session on the Friday morning
- Option for inside-out program to include two nights camping under the stars in one of the UK’s largest dark sky reserves
- Instructor led evening activity sessions including dark skies adventure or bat hunt
- Cultural or historical visit at Big Pit National Coal Museum or the Welsh Rural Life Museum
- Falconry experience with the Wings of Wales, half day or full day
- Travel to us by train – pickup and drop off at local train station
