Environmental and adventure at Calshot Activities Centre

Embracing the environment

Based on the shores of the Solent and the edge of the New Forest, Calshot Activities Centre is ideally placed to offer a range of environmental and field study activities.

Tailored to the topics and environments relevant to each school, our environmental and adventure packages deliver an exciting mix of experiences for young people.

Bringing the classroom to life

We'll bring the classroom to life through first-hand experience providing opportunities for team development as well as individual challenge.

A typical full day includes four activity sessions, lasting 1 hour 45 mins each, with most environmental activities taking up half a day due to additional travel time. Our environmental sessions are designed to engage and challenge students, bringing to life topics such as beach and marine ecology, coastal erosion and river channel changes. Fieldwork skills are developed throughout the sessions as students use a range of scientific equipment and methods to collect and analyse data.

Activities that build useful skills

Activities range from those providing personal, individual challenges (e.g. climbing, skiing, archery) to those which develop communication, co-operation and teambuilding elements (e.g. low ropes, problem solving). Ultimately, the most suitable mix of activities will depend upon the aims of the visiting group and the programme will be tailored to meet these needs.

Tailored programmes

We are experts in tailoring programmes to suit all needs and all budgets, so if you cannot see anything which meets your requirements, then please reach out to our team who will be happy to create a bespoke programme for you.
