This blog has been updated to reflect the change to the name of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, formerly known as the Brecon Beacons, and to remove information about COVID-19 procedures.
We can offer day visits for outdoor learning at one of our four day centres. We have three in Hampshire and one in the Bannau Brycheinion (Brecon Beacons) National Park.
A day away from the classroom can generate huge benefits such as:
- Improving student to student relationships
- Developing student to teacher relationships
- Boosting your student’s self-esteem
- Enhancing health and wellbeing
- Supporting the school curriculum to
- Embed learning
Recently, we welcomed our first school back; Milford-on Sea Primary School where we coordinated three-day visits at one of our centres located at Calshot, catering for 30 students a day. The visits comprised of several activities for the children including kayaking, archery and rock climbing.
Both the teachers and students had an incredible time:
After cancelling the residential for Year 5&6, we were keen to find an alternative that would provide the children with new experiences and build teamwork within our class bubbles. In the lead up to the trip, there were risk assessments, covid measures and extra precautions that we put in place. Despite the extra considerations, restrictions did not stop the children (and staff) from having a fantastic time. It was reassuring for us to know that each group stayed with the same leader throughout the day. During the visit, staff and children felt protected and safe, whilst creating many new memories with their bubbles.
Here are just some of the children’s reviews:
Thank you for our school trip. It was so fun! I most enjoyed rock climbing, even though my arms and legs ached for three days! Tom was so nice and helped us in any situation
Our leader Bex was amazing! I didn’t have a favourite activity because they were all so fun! We also learnt new skills like how to kayak and do archery. This was definitely a day I will never forget
