Local Studies
Hampshire Archives boasts an extensive collection of published books, pamphlets, and other printed materials that delve into Hampshire’s rich history, topography, ecology, and communities. This wide range of local studies resources highlights the unique features that make Hampshire special.
The collection includes thousands of books listed on Hampshire’s library catalogue. Most are available for reference in Hampshire Record Office’s search room in Winchester.
Other items such as periodicals, pamphlets, printed maps, and newspapers are listed on our main catalogue. Many of these, including 15,000 digitised photographs, are easily accessible from the public search room while others can quickly be retrieved from our strongrooms Tuesdays to Thursdays between 9:30am and midday and 1pm and 3pm.
