Our free enquiry service offers advice about your research question and the availability and use of our records.
You can also submit a request for research to be done on your behalf, at a charge.
Order copies of parish register entries, newspaper entries, wills and most unbound documents.
If you require a copy of a document held at Hampshire Record Office for legal purposes, we can provide certified copies or transcriptions.
We welcome group visits from schools, academies and colleges, also teachers and student teachers, who would like to familiarise themselves with what archives can offer them at Hampshire Record Office.
Our mission is to collect, safeguard, share and celebrate Hampshire’s rich heritage for today’s and tomorrow’s communities, and to support Hampshire County Council’s effective business delivery through managing its records.
History never stands still. The stories of local areas are changing all the time and we would like to help communities to celebrate their diverse and evolving stories. Community archives are collections of material that tell the story of a community’s history.
You can support Hampshire Archives and Local Studies by donating documents, by joining the Hampshire Archives Trust, or by donating your time or money.
