Bridgemary Library is being transformed into Hampshire’s first Green Library, creating a community space that champions sustainability.

Latest updates

Come to the library on Saturday 25 May to learn about the changes we’ve made and find out about getting involved in our exciting plans for the future too.

From 10am to midday we will be running a range of free activities and events for all ages inside the library and in the garden. The library will be open as usual from 9:30am to 1:30pm.

We’ve recently reached the mid-point of the improvement work taking place at the Library. Take a look at the new interior layout, including our new children’s section.

Project progress

News and updates on the progress of the project will be posted here and on the Bridgemary Library Facebook page. Check back regularly for updates.

When the Green Library is complete, the staff and volunteers will help to deliver a series of events and activities which focus on environmental issues. The library staff will be given specialist training to ensure they can provide helpful information for the local community.

Investing in environmentally sustainable projects like the Bridgemary Green Library is part of the County Council’s wider commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
