In addition to having staff and colleagues on board with the whole settings approach to smoking, it is important that they have a minimum level of knowledge about smoking and vaping.
They should know their responsibilities in supporting the smokefree site and how they can help. As a baseline, staff should also be aware of the main messages to send to students about the relative harms of vaping versus smoking cigarettes.
