Years 5 and 6
Aim
To educate Years 5 and 6 pupils about the dangers of secondhand smoke in the home/car and to provide necessary strategies to reduce exposure.
Previous learning
Pupils will have a basic understanding of the dangers of smoking to health from previous lessons.
Learning goals
By the end of the lessons each pupil should be able to:
- Describe where secondhand smoke can be found
- Explain the dangers of secondhand smoke to children’s health
- Describe strategies to reduce exposure in the home and car
- To write a persuasive letter to a smoker encouraging them to smoke away from children
