Join us as we celebrate Heritage Open Days: England’s Largest Celebration of History and Culture.
Exhibition is available on 12, 13, 19 and 20 September, 10am - 5pm.
Step into the past with a special Heritage Open Days event exploring the everyday histories of the people behind the Royal Victoria Military Hospital.
Drawing on research from the 1921 Census, this exhibition reveals the often-overlooked stories of the people who kept the hospital running behind the scenes. Discover who worked as the engine driver, the responsibilities taken on by a 14‑year‑old employee, and the individuals who transported patients. Learn how convalescing soldiers were supported in their recovery through practical therapies designed to rebuild strength and independence.
A special thank you to volunteer heritage researcher Tim, whose work helped bring this exhibition to life.
Come along to explore, learn and celebrate our shared heritage!
Free to enter, normal parking charges apply.
