Royal Victoria Chapel tour

The Royal Victoria Chapel was once at the heart of Netley’s Royal Victoria Hospital. This vast establishment cared for sick and wounded soldiers for 100 years, from Victorian times to the 1960s. Join one of our knowledgeable guides on a one-hour tour of the Chapel, Tower and exhibitions and discover the fascinating history of the Royal Victoria Hospital and the people who lived, worked and died here.

Guided tours are available on:

  • Tuesdays at 10.45am
  • Wednesdays at 2pm
  • Saturdays at 10am

Groups of 10 or more can pre-book at a discounted rate.  Please contact rvcp.enquiries@hants.gov.uk to make a group booking.

  • The Royal Victoria Chapel Tour includes the Tower, which is a challenging climb of 109 steps
  • Do not attempt the climb if you have any health conditions you feel may be made worse by the experience
  • Children must be able to climb the steps unaided.  Adults are not permitted to carry children on the stairs
  • Babies must be in a carrier or sling, not carried in arms
  • Tickets cannot be refunded if you change your mind about the tour or climbing the Tower after purchasing
  • A maximum of 20 visitors will be permitted on each tour.
