Dormouse

Dormice are a protected species. They are long lived compared to other mammals and are one of the few species in the UK that hibernate. They are rarely spotted but the rangers monitor them on the nature reserve.

Where to find

In wooded areas.

When to spot

Dormice are very rarely seen as they are nocturnal. However they are around all year except for when they are hibernating for the winter.
