Water voles

The water voles at Titchfield Haven were released in 2013 as a reintroduction programme in partnership with the South Downs National Park and the Derek Gow Consultancy. They have been successfully breeding here since.

Where to find

They can be seen from any of our waterways, in particular in walkway pond and Darters dip. You may just hear a ‘plop’ as they swim away or listen really carefully and you may hear them munching on vegetation. They eat over 200 different plants!

When to spot

Can be spotted all year but are less active in winter months.
