Hemlock water-dropwort

These numerous white umbellifers (umbrella-shaped flower clusters) are poisonous, but their flower-heads attract a wide variety of insects. It shouldn’t be confused with wild parsley as it’s highly poisonous if eaten. In fact, it’s the most poisonous plant in the UK, although some animals can eat it.

Where to find

Along the boardwalk and in wet boggy areas.

When to spot

Flowers appear in June and July.

Height

Up to 1.5m.
