Emergency Services

Emergency vehicles

Your duty is to work with colleagues in a wide range of agencies to provide a high quality service that nobody wants to use. You’re only too aware of the increasing range of issues that you need to address but there are also the “unknown unknowns”. Balancing the competing demands is not straightforward and you need to have access to legal advisers who not only have experience of the “operational” issues that you face but also the need for strong and effective governance structures.

Whilst you already work with colleagues in a wide range of agencies to deliver joined up services, you’re aware of the increasing need to form much stronger partnerships or joint working arrangements: not just with other emergency services but also with local authorities. This is an area where we already have significant experience of the legal issues that need to be addressed in order to achieve your objective of a joined up partnership that is more than the sum of its parts. This may require a fundamental review of how you provide your services with implications for your HR strategy, premises policy and use of operational assets. We have the skills and experience to provide the legal advice that you will require and importantly, in providing that advice, we share your public sector perspective and approach.
