We advise a wide range of public sector bodies in respect of their commercial activities. This advice can range from a helping hand for small organisations without a commercial team that are entering into routine leasing agreements for office equipment or the like, through to multi-million pound procurements for major infrastructure projects.

We provide advice and support on all of the legal and contractual aspects of the public procurement of supplies, services and works, with a focus on identifying innovative ways in which you can work with partner organisations and options for the development of shared and sold services.

Our work means that we have an in-depth knowledge of the operation of The Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and a range of Contracts Standing Orders. We advise at all stages of projects from the strategic planning and business development phases through to implementation, dealing if necessary with any challenges to the procurement of the project or any other issue.

We have been at the forefront of developing and delivering a range of innovative shared services and partnership structures for public sector clients and we accordingly advise on shared services options as well as the associated powers and governance arrangements. Our work includes the negotiation of contractual shared services arrangements, as well as the drafting of the relevant commercial and corporate documentation.

We deal with the incorporation and registration of the companies and trusts that are increasingly required to deliver innovative structures and as part of our wider service we also have a company secretarial team.
