18 May 2026 - Night work update
Work to resurface the A32 Wickham Road southbound lane that was planned to take place overnight on Monday 18 May, has needed to be postponed due to forecast heavy rain. The resurfacing will be rescheduled.
Update planned road closures
Due to a burst water main on a road forming part of the diversion route for our upcoming overnight works, the works have been rescheduled while Southern Water carries out the necessary repairs.
The full overnight closures currently planned for 8, 9 and 10 May will no longer take place. Instead from 8 to 10 May, two-way temporary traffic lights will be in place on the A32 Wickham Road between 8pm and 6am. The traffic lights will be removed each morning.
On 18 May for one night, the same traffic management above will be in place.
During these night works, the following slip roads will be closed, please follow the diversion routes:
- M27 Junction 10 eastbound on-slip (towards Portsmouth)
- M27 Junction 10 westbound off-slip (towards Wickham).
Overnight Closures
11 May until 17 May
The overnight works will require temporary full closure on the A32 Wickham Road between Knowle Roundabout and North Hill Roundabout, including the M27 Junction 10 eastbound on‑slip (towards Portsmouth) and westbound off‑slip (towards Wickham).
To ensure the works can be carried out safely, the following closures will be in place overnight between 8pm and 6am (the road will reopen each morning):
- A32 Wickham Road northbound (towards Wickham)
- A32 Wickham Road southbound (towards Fareham)
- M27 Junction 10 eastbound on‑slip (towards Portsmouth)
- M27 Junction 10 westbound off‑slip (towards Wickham)
A reminder that these works are required to connect the new road layout to the existing layout at Broadway Roundabout, facilitate construction on the southbound lanes, and carry out drainage works on the M27 westbound off-slip.
