Opening earlier than planned, this milestone marks a significant step forward in improving connections for local communities, businesses and road users across the wider area, while supporting new homes, jobs and economic growth in the area.
For the first time, drivers will be able to join the M27 westbound and leave eastbound at
Junction 10 using the new slip roads, completing the all-moves junction and providing full access to and from the motorway in all directions.
The new dual carriageway through the underpass, known as the A32/A3222 link road, will initially operate with one lane in each direction while final improvement works, including landscaping, are completed. This approach allows the remaining elements to be carried out safely while maintaining access for road users. Traffic management is expected to remain in place until early 2027.
The additional lane providing access to the eastbound M27 on-slip is expected to open in early winter 2026.
Please see the below plan showing the new ‘all-moves’ junction.

Motorway Testing and Safety Checks
Temporary speed limits and lane restrictions will remain in place on the M27 between Junctions 9 and 11 while National Highways carries out the final safety and technology testing that is required on motorways.
Although drivers may not see construction activity taking place, these final checks are essential to bring the new systems into operation safely. The measures are expected to remain in place until early 2027.
We would like to thank residents, road users and the local community for their patience and understanding whilst we enter the final stages of this major construction scheme.
