We are making good progress at Broadway Roundabout as part of the ongoing M27 Junction 10 improvement works, which support the development of Welborne Garden Village near Fareham.
To carry out essential works that will connect the new road layout to the existing network, we need to implement 24-hour lane closures over a 26-day period on a 200 metre section of the A32 Wickham Road. The works will involve alternating closures of the northbound and southbound lanes enabling traffic to pass in one direction at all times. We expect journeys to take longer during this time, so please allow extra time for travel.
What’s happening:
- improving drainage in the area
- resurfacing works to tie in the new and old sections of the road on A32 with Broadway Roundabout
- earthworks on the A32 Wickham Road east
- diverting BT cables
- installing a new traffic island at the north end of Broadway roundabout
When
From 11 August at 7am to 5 September 2025 at 7pm. This includes the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Please note that while our operatives will not be on site during the weekends and the Bank Holiday, traffic management measures will remain in place. This is a necessary safety precaution due to the ongoing, unfinished works and ensures the continued protection of all road users while the site remains active.
Traffic Management
Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place to manage vehicle flow. The works will involve alternating closures of the northbound and southbound lanes. During each phase, only one lane will remain open, allowing traffic to pass in one direction at a time.
The temporary two-way traffic lights will operate as follows:
- manually controlled between 7am and 7pm
- automatic sequence between 7pm to 7am
