Major Box Structure in Place Ahead of Christmas - New Year Engineering Work

The large concrete box structure that will form a new underpass is now completed and in position, enabling us to move into the final stages of preparations before the planned slide operation beneath the motorway. This major piece of construction work is scheduled to take place during the Christmas and New Year school holidays, using a specialist engineering method that is being used in Hampshire for the first time.

This innovative ‘box slide’ engineering method significantly shortens the overall construction time and helps minimise long-term disruption for motorway users. 

Upcoming M27 Closure: Date Announcement Coming Soon

Over Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 during the school holidays, when traffic volumes are typically lower, a new underpass will be installed beneath the M27, just west of the existing A32 overbridge north of Fareham. However, it requires a full closure of the M27 in both directions between Junction 9 (Whiteley) and Junction 11 (Fareham).  Details on exact closure dates, times, and the diversion route plan will be announced this month.

At the beginning of October, we were delighted to welcome 20 Cubs from the 1st Fareham Scouts Group. During their visit, they enjoyed presentations about our project and the wider world of construction, and took part in a series of fun, construction-themed challenges designed to spark curiosity and teamwork.

Following our August food bank deliveries, we have also made a further donation to the Meon Valley Foodbank, continuing our commitment to supporting the local community.
