The Hampshire Pension Fund is launching a consultation on its draft Investment Strategy Statement (ISS).
Following the 2025 Actuarial Valuation, the Pension Fund Panel and Board have taken investment consultancy advice and reviewed the ISS. The ISS sets out how contributions from employers and scheme members are invested, including:
- investment objectives and approach
- how funds are allocated across asset classes
- how environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors are considered.
The value of investments does not affect the value of scheme members pension benefits. The LGPS is a defined benefit scheme, meaning pensions are guaranteed and not linked to investment performance. While benefits are guaranteed, investment returns can influence the level of future employer contributions, so the strategy remains an important part of how the Fund is managed.
The Pension Fund is now consulting with scheme members and employers on the draft ISS that was agreed by the Panel and Board.
