If you change any of your personal details, it is important that you let us know as soon as possible. The easiest and most secure way to do this is through our Member Portal where you can change:
- your address, name or marital status,
- your 'expression of wish' for payment of a death grant.

You can update your address through our Member Portal.

- your name and National Insurance number
- new address and old address on the letter
We will update our records and send you a letter acknowledging the address change.
- Change of name or gender

If you have changed your name, you can update your details through our Member Portal.

If you have legally changed gender, complete a "change of personal details form" and enclose a clear photocopy of your gender recognition certificate. Alternatively, you can write to us at Pension Services and include:
- your old name and new name (if applicable),
- your National Insurance number,
- copy of your gender recognition certificate.

If you marry or enter into a civil partnership, you can update your details through our Member Portal.

You will need to provide:
- a clear photocopy of your marriage or civil partnership certificate,
- include your National Insurance number.
If you divorce or your civil partnership is dissolved, send us:
- a clear photocopy of your decree absolute or final order,
- include your National Insurance number.
If you have a cohabiting partner, they may be entitled to receive a survivor's pension if:
- you paid into the LGPS on or after 1 April 2008,
- your relationship meets certain conditions, see: Partners' and children's pensions.
You do not have to complete a form to nominate a cohabiting partner for entitlement to a cohabiting partner's pension. However, you can do this to assist your pension provider through our Member Portal, or see: Nomination of cohabiting partner.
