Forward planning is advisable when making any major change, and retirement is no exception. Consider coming along to a retirement workshop organised by West Sussex Pension Fund in partnership with Affinity Financial Awareness, a retirement specialist. These workshops are designed to enhance your understanding of the key issues and decisions you will face as you approach this new stage in life. They are suitable for LGPS members considering retirement within the next couple of years. The courses are also just as valuable for those uncertain about their retirement age, and those with a specific retirement age in mind.

This workshop will help you clearly understand the changes you will face in both your lifestyle and finances, and the most appropriate ways to manage them, while also dispelling common myths. You will explore a wide range of retirement-related topics, including tips on ensuring your assets go to your chosen beneficiaries, minimising the taxes you pay, understanding basic investment strategies for retirees, and reducing investment risk. Additionally, the workshop will explain your occupational and state pension entitlements and guide you through the decisions you need to make regarding how to claim your pension benefits.
